I'm Not Really Sure What Happened Today Sunday (4/18/2010)... I'm not sure what Really Happened today but I am getting oh so confused by the Left and the Right and why each group claims to be brilliantly correct... Well this is my take on the whole mess. This country has many problems. We have social, diplomatic, financial and just plain stubborn personalities that do not listen to each other because he's democrat or she's a republican. When I attended college we were informed of all our natural resources and the particular attributes that make this country great. We have abundances of Coal, Oil, Natural Gas, Uranium, etc. etc. The company I work for bought a building that was housed by BP Solarex. They made Solar Panels. The process involved some of the most dangerous chemicals and the company went under because of lack of interest and cost. We now look to Electric Cars. Sounds nice, but what about all the lead that will be in those batteries. What do we do with the leaching waste that will result in our aquifers. When I was driving the Southwestern Coast of Spain I was appalled by the ugly windmills that dotted the perfect coastline. Most of them were inoperable. But our environmentalist do not want to see oil derricks 50 miles off shore. I am partial to Nuclear because that is what I did for most of my life. I remember growing up in South Buffalo and driving past the National Analine (sp?) chemical company. The air was putrid and all my Father talked about was "That was the smell of jobs". I believe this country made great strides to clean up the environment and let other countries destroy theirs. Wow, we are so perfect. We have political groups that are so opposed to Nuclear Power Plants but, if you check out Ontario Hydro you will see how many Candu-Nuclear power plants are just over our border sharing the Great Lakes. Wow, those Canadian-American Political Hacks were really thinking about us. What happened to Hydrogen Power. This country put in so much money into the development and now when Electric Cars and the so-called intelligent Grid are on the table - Hydrogen comes off. I say we have Our Natural Resources, and we should use them. We should STOP (Not just cut-back) getting our oil from the Middle East and drill for our own. We should be using more Natural Gas. Vehicles run great with them. We should learn how to make coal more efficient and cleaner to burn. This my friends will stop job losses and get this economy moving in the right direction. Environmentalists and Unions were good when they started but are now anchors that hold down progress in moving this country forward. Amen...
